Beginning and concluding in Delhi, the Indian Panorama tour chugs along to Agra for a sojourn of Taj Mahal and move on to the sacred city of Varanasi and its holy bathing Ghats on the banks of legendary Ganges. Group of Monuments at Khajuraho, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is another attraction offering a glimpse into an era of cultural and architectural brilliance of Chandelas. A never before experience of the Indian kaleidoscope is on the cards in the sheer opulence of Maharajas Express tastefully appointed interiors aided impeccably by gracious hospitality.

On arrival, after meet & assist services, transfer to hotel.

O/N stay in Hotel at Delhi.

Early morning, transfer to aboard the Maharajas Express Luxury Train at New Delhi's Safdarjung Railway Station. Post lunch, de board to visit the Amber Fort. The Amber Fort, set in picturesque and rugged hills is a fascinating blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Constructed by Raja Man Singh I in 1592 and completed by Mirja Raja Jai Singh, the fort was made in red sand stone and white marble. The rugged forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise with a beautiful fusion of art and architecture. Amber is the classic and romantic fort-palace with a magnificent aura. A short jeep ride takes you up to the fort where you will enjoy a tour of the royal apartments, with striking views of the gorge. Step back into the Mughal era as you enter the Chamber of Mirrors (Sheesh Mahal), and the Hall of Victory Brunch on-board. Dinner at an exclusive venue at Jaipur.

Overnight at Jaipur on Luxury Train The Maharajas Express.

After on-board breakfast, deboard to visit the City Palace galleries including the Textile Museum, Arms Museum and Arts Museum. Admire the famous Sterling Silver Vessels entered in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The vessels are said to be made from 14000 silver coins without any joint and were used by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II to carry the water of the Ganges to drink on his trip to England in 1901 to attend KingEdward VII's coronation. The City Palace in Jaipur is a sprawling complex that blends Rajput, Mughal, and European architectural styles. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur, between 1729 and 1732, serving as the royal residence and the heart of the city. The palace complex features intricate carvings, courtyards, and museums, showcasing the rich history and cultural heritage of the Jaipur royal family. Visitors can explore various palaces, temples, and galleries, including the Chandra Mahal, which is still the residence of the royal family .Return to the train for lunch. Post lunch relax onboard or you may choose to participate in the optional activities. In the evening, proceed for an exclusive dinner at the Rambagh Palace Hotel. The Palace built in 183AD was the residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur from 1925 to 1957, when it was converted into a luxury hotel. The palace retainsits royal splendor with hand-carved marble latticework and elaborate gardens.Return to the comforts of Maharajas' Express as it leaves for Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore). Early morning Safari at Ranthambore National Park.

1 x Safari rides for sunrise incl. your Open Jeep Safari with Naturalist (shared).

Tiger safaris traditionally take place at dawn and dusk when the big cats are on the move, hunting. In the morning, after tea or coffee and biscuits, you depart on your first tiger safari of the day. On your return, take breakfast and a few hours of leisure walking the grounds, or napping. In the late afternoon embark on a second safari to catch the best time of the evening to view tigers and photograph the park. Your naturalist will speculate where you can likely see the tigers emerge from the forest. Enjoy a rich diversity of fauna and flora, incl migratory birds. Train proceeds to Fatehpur Sikri. Afternoon visit to the deserted Mughal Empire city of Fatehpur Sikri.

Welcome to Fatehpur Sikri. This magnificent fortified ancient city, 40km west of Agra, was the short-lived capital of the Mughal empire between 1572 and 1585, during the reign of Emperor Akbar. Earlier, Akbar had visited the village of Sikri to consult the Sufi saint Shaikh Salim Chishti, who predicted the birth of an heir to the Mughal throne. When the prophecy came true, Akbar built his new capital here, including a stunning mosque, still in use today, and three palaces, one for each of his favourite wives – one a Hindu, one a Muslim and one a Christian (though Hindu villagers in Sikri dispute these claims). The city was an Indo-Islamic masterpiece, but erected in an area that supposedly suffered from water shortages and so was abandoned shortly after Akbar's death. On arrival at the quaint station of Fatehpur Sikri, disembark and proceed on a tour of the fascinating sights comprising of imposing gateways, halls of private and public audience, beautifully sculptured palaces with unique water bodies, reflecting a perfect blend of Hindu and Muslim architectural styles. This deserted red sandstone city was built by the Great Mughal Emperor Akbar as his capital in the late 16th century. It is now a famous UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to the Comforts of Maharajas' Express, the train continues the journey towards the magical city of Agra. The jewel of India, home to one of the world's great architectural wonders - the Taj Mahal. With its spectacular monumental masterpieces and picturesque natural setting, Agra is a legendary city glorified by time.

Early morning, disembark and proceed to the world famous Taj Mahal (one of the Seven Wonders of the World). Also, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it was built by Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his favourite queen Mumtaz. This Incomparable marvel is constructed entirely out of white marble and is an architectural masterpiece with beautiful Inlay work and marble screens. Approximately 20,000 of India's most revered craftsmen were recruited to give shape to this poetry in marble. A Jewel of Muslim Art in India built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal, today renowned as the best wonder of the world. In 1631 construction began with 20,000 masters from India and Central Asia. Specialists were brought in from as far away as Europe to produce the exquisite marble screens and Pietra Dura inlay work using precious stones./p>

Later, enjoy breakfast from atop the Taj Khema, a table top lawn, gazing at the Taj Mahal. Following breakfast, return to the train for lunch. Afternoon is at leisure or you may choose to participate in the optional activities. Return to the train for dinner as the train proceeds for an onward journey to Orchha. Overnight on the Maharajas' Express

Early morning visit Orchha. Disembark at Orchha railway station to visit the quaint village of Orchha known for its rustic lifestyle. Visit the Orchha Fort, built over several years in the 1500s by the Bundela rulers overlooking the Betwa river. A short Tuk Tuk ride will take you to experience village life in the hinterland. Return to the train for breakfast. Enjoy a relaxed lunch on-board as the train continues its journey through some of the most dramatic and picturesque environs towards Khajuraho Visit the Khajuraho temples in the afternoon.

Dating back to 10th century and housing world's finest Heritage Temples, Khajuraho is swathed with stunning sculptures showcasing Nagara style of architecture including the infamous erotic artwork relating to Hindu's book of love Kamasutra. These temples were built by the rulers of the Great Chandela Dynasty and offers a blend of Hindu, Buddhist and Jain religions. Khajuraho is renowned for its architecture and exquisite sculptures. Built between 950 and 1050 AD in a truly inspired burst of creativity, the temples are superb examples of Indo-Aryan architecture. The highly sensual engravings depict the whole range of human emotions and relationships.

On arrival, proceed on a tour of the magnificent temples of Khajuraho, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the western group of temples which constitutes some of the finest examples of Chandela art at its peak including the Kandariya Mahadev Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Then return to the train to enjoy an 'Indian Evening' and train proceeds to Varanasi.

Overnight on the Maharajas' Express

Today as you enjoy breakfast on-board, your journey continues through rich agricultural fields, arriving into the holy city of Varanasi. Varanasi, also known as Kashi or Benares, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Located on the banks of the Ganges River, it's a major Hindu pilgrimage site, considered sacred for death and liberation. The city is famous for its Ghats, temples like Kashi Vishwanath, and vibrant cultural scene. Varanasi is a centre. of Hindu philosophy, spirituality, and classical music. It's a city of contrasts, with ancient traditions existing alongside modern life.

Following disembarkation, proceed for lunch at Hotel Taj Ganges. After lunch, visit the ancient ruins of Sarnath, where Buddha delivered his first sermon expounding the principles of Buddhism. Proceed for a boat cruise on the Ganges, en-route visit a Silk Weaving Centre, where you may even shop for some world famous Banaras silk saris and brocades.

Sarnath, the world-famous Buddhist site, is situated about 10 km (6 miles) northeast of Varanasi city. This was the place where the Buddha delivered his first sermon in the Deer Park in 528 B.C that is also known as Dhamma Chakra Pravartan, meaning "The Wheel of Law turns".

Afterwards enjoy Boat Ride on the Ganges to witness evening Sunset Ceremony Aarti, a Sanskrit prayer performed to worship The Ganges River by several priests, accompanied by bells, drums, cymbals and flower petals.

Return to the comforts of Maharajas' Express. Dinner will be served on-board. Maharajas' Express leaves for Delhi. Breakfast on-board, Lunch at Taj Gateway Hotel and Dinner on-board.

Overnight on the Maharajas' Express

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on-board as the train arrives into Delhi. Disembark at around 1220 hrs at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station. Pick up from railway station and then start the sightseeing of Delhi.

Visit India gate, Agrasen ki Baoli & drive pass Parliament & President house.

Have lunch in a restaurant. Then visit Akshardham Temple – One of the largest Hindu temple in world.

Evening free to stroll around near famous market of Delhi. After dinner, timely transfer to airport to catch flight for onward destination.

All passenger Cabins come with individual temperature controls, the first of its kind in India & have state-of-the-art facilities. LCD televisions, DVD players, direct dial telephone and internet, to name a few. In-house movies and live television also keep you entertained through the royal journey. Just a small reminder for those who are used to a different power supply, the Maharajas' Express is equipped with 110/230V sockets. Every cabin also has its own electronic safe deposit box.
